THIS WEEK’S CORE VALUE: COURTESY
Being or acting polite to others
Be grateful! Everyday… For your parents, for the food you eat, for the friends you have, and especially for your health.
RULES AND ETIQUETTE
Did you know? A ball, to be dropped under the Rules must be dropped by the player himself. He must stand erect, hold the ball at shoulder height and arm’s length and drop it. If a ball is dropped by any other person or in any other manner and the error is not corrected, the player incurs a penalty of one stroke. Rule 20-6
SWING TIP OF THE WEEK
Struggling with uphill bunker shots? Try positioning the ball ahead of center. Tilt your spine with the slope and open your stance. On the backswing hinge your wrist and hit into the hill with a lot of speed so the ball will pop out. Don’t forget to hit about an inch behind the ball.
CORE VALUE MOMENT OF THE WEEK
Golfers showing respect and courtesy as they listen to Coach Charlie’s lecture on rules.
GOLF SKILLS PRACTICED THIS WEEK
Powerful storms kept the golfers inside reviewing rules and scenarios related to drops, cart paths and provisional balls, among others. Additionally, the golfers brushed up on their First Tee curriculum by taking the Par Level test in order to get ready for the next round of evaluations.
